Accessibility

The board is meant to be read by everyone who needs to know whether a site is down, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard or no colour at all.

Effective 13 October 2026, last updated the same day.

What we did

Every state is a word as well as a shape: "Answering", "Down", "Not confirmed", "Not yet read". Each day in a strip is a filled block, a cross, an outline or a dash, and carries its own text for a screen reader, such as "12 Oct answered". The page needs no script, every link takes the keyboard with a visible focus ring, and text meets WCAG 2.2 AA contrast as measured on the live page.

The known limit

A strip reads out thirty days for every site, which is long with a screen reader. Each strip is labelled with its count first, such as "answered on 1 of 1 days read", so it can be skipped.

Standard

We aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA.
